History: Quality of Life...Present & Growing in Leander

Have you seen what is going on at City Park over on Bagdad Road? Heavy equipment is moving dirt, and completion is set for late summer.   Or maybe you have ventured over to Mason Creek North’s new park.  Your city turned an old drainage facility into a wonderful park for all citizens.  How about venturing down to the golf course to see the new clubhouse being built.  The clubhouse will be finished in April along with a well lighted parking lot.  What about Devine Lake Park.  I would be willing to bet it will be open for the forth of July and LibertyFest.  Sidewalks are being built along Crystal Falls East to accommodate children walking to school.  Crystal Falls West road re-alignment improvements are underway.  Bagdad Road is now finished and open.  Leander Drive, which parallel’s 183 is due to be re-constructed and will have new fire hydrants included in the construction.  A 16 inch water line is being constructed from Crystal falls East to 2243 to bring additional pressure east of the railroad tracts.  Connecting to it will be a 16 inch water line up Leander Drive.  The water tank and sub-station on Leander Drive therefore will be removed.  Your city’s recent acquisition of the SRI building on Leander Drive which will be the new police department-fire department-public works department is currently being designed for a grand opening anticipated by the end of the year.   Our new library site is on the west side of Bagdad Road near Mason Creek, and architects are moving quickly to complete the plans.

 

These are just a few things we as a city are doing to improve the quality of life here in Leander. Your recently passed bonds are hard at work, building new parks, a new library and a new fire station.   We are continuously re-defining ourselves and we as a city will continue to be the “Rising Star of Central Texas”
